Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks his initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to get a title is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his skill to perform at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to force a final set.

The opponent saved four early chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
